Quick Start Guide on VDC¶
Terminology¶
A Virtual Datacenter consists of a set of virtual resources (vCPUs, memory, storage, networking) assigned to an administrator, who can manage them by creating VMs and deploying services to them. The administrator can also create projects and users and enable them to use the resources in a project.
Create a Project¶
As a VDC Admin, you can create as many projects as you need within your Virtual Data Centre. To request a new project, send an email to richiedi-servizi@garr.it specifying:
- the project name
- a short description of the project
- the resources you want to allocate to the project
- the name and contact details of the project administrator
Grant Access¶
You can request to add users to your projects by sending an email to richiedi-servizi@garr.it, indicating the project name and the names of the people you wish to add.
Create Virtual Machines¶
Follow the same steps as in Quick Start Guide on VM to create VMs inside a project.
