GARR Cloud Platform¶
The GARR Cloud Platform provides cloud services tailored for the Italian academic and research community.
With GARR Cloud, you can easily create and manage virtual machines through an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) model, ensuring flexibility, scalability, and full control over computing resources.

Virtual Machines¶
The GARR Cloud provides virtual machines running on servers hosted in Italy within its own data centers, interconnected through GARR’s high-speed fiber optic network. The platform offers tools for self-provisioning computing resources, enabling easy scaling from single instances to integrated and load-balanced cloud computing clusters.

Virtual Datacenter¶
A Virtual Datacenter is a set of virtual resources (vCPUs, memory, storage, networking) allocated to a GARR-connected institution. Within the vDC, the institution can organize and distribute its resources across multiple projects, which may be assigned to different departments or research groups. Each project provides an isolated environment where users can create and manage virtual machines and services.
